On October 26th at approximately 0930, AARS squads were paged out on a missing person call for Mr. Jackie Hale in Blount County. Mr. Hale was located and identified by rescuers on Friday evening, October 28th, at which time he evaded rescuers. After careful consideration it was decided to call off the search due to safety concerns for Mr. Hale and the search and rescue personnel. AARS would like to thank everyone for their efforts on this search and for the service to your communities.

To acquire Emergency Response-Pandemic Ready communication devices and enter into a statewide agreement with the Alabama Department of Public Health Office of Emergency Medical Services Region Two (East Alabama EMS, Inc.) to implement a uniformed Emergency Readiness Network (ERN) for the Alabama Association of Rescue Squads.

The National Registry is extending their deadlines for renewal of your national certification until June 30, 2020. If your Alabama license expires on March 31, 2020 you will still need to renew by that date to work in the state of Alabama. Please note Alabama is NOT extending your license expiration date. Please renew your license by March 31, 2020.

It is with a heavy heart that we post that Tonya Collins from Athens-Limestone Rescue Squad passed away this past Sunday after a long battle with cancer. Services will be held at the Limestone Chapel. Visitation is from 6-9 on Thursday Jan 30th. The funeral will be on Friday Jan 31st at 2pm. Please keep her family, and the Athens-Limestone Rescue Squad in your prayers.
